My Story
Graduated from Northern University in Aberdeen, SD with elementary and special ed. Degrees. Taught in Aberdeen, married and moved to Rapid. Divorced after 13 years, raising four great kids, and continued to work in Rapid for 34 years, predominantly teaching in North Rapid Schools. Retired and moved to Cairo, Egypt for four years where my present husband taught at the American University in Cairo and I was a principal at a Sudanese Refugee School in a poor area in Cairo. Ran a school and taught two brilliant Sudanese men how to lead in the school setting. Had had my Admin but only used it for a few years bc I missed kids, missed the life of learning w kids!!!!
Moved to Colorado for three years to help my husband’s parents. I became the director of an adult literacy program for a large library in CO. After three years my final bookend to my career came to fruition where I taught young Native students to become teachers, working at Oglala Lakota College in the Education Department. Truly a fun end to a long career!
